Hemophilia Nurse Practitioner / Program Coordinator
Description:
The Hemophilia Nurse Practitioner and Program Coordinator is a registered professional advanced practice nurse with expertise in inherited and acquired bleeding disorders of adult, adolescent and pediatric patients who provides direct patient care under physician supervision at both WMCC and Bronson Pediatric Hematology/Oncology sites. Responsible to oversee and manage the programmatic/fiscal components, research needs and operational quality of the Hemophilia Program. Responsible for ensuring compliance to federal and vendor grant requirements, data management projects and 340B Pharmacy policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Current NP certification. Must have current valid license from the State ofMichigan. Eligible for NP credentialing at both Bronson and Borgess hospitals. CPR Certified. Demonstrated competencies in clinical practice/case management in working with pediatric/adolescent and/or adult patients required. Previous work experiences in management of chronically ill patients, venipuncture/IV skills, and/or fiscal programs helpful. Must be able to achieve competency with required computer software. Excellent skills required in areas of interpersonal communication, team work, flexibility, and patient/family relationship/advocacy. Must demonstrate problem-solving skills to effectively resolve both interpersonal and technical discrepancies. Must be self-directed, detail oriented and able to practice autonomously within the scope of nursing practice, working in a timely and efficient manner.

Infusion Registered Nurse
Description:
Under the direction of the Infusion Nurse Manager, accurately provides safe, professional nursing and care coordination to patients undergoing treatment through medical oncology. The infusion nurse accurately evaluates patient condition, teaches, counsels, and acts as a resource for patients and their significant others for support and for disease and treatment information. The infusion nurse provides appropriate information to patients and family members regarding Chemotherapy treatments and side effects.
Qualifications:
Work requires frequent standing, stooping, bending and stretching. Requires assisting patients of up to 300 pounds (pushing, pulling and lifting/providing assistance). Good manual dexterity required. Excellent visual acuity to read charts, computer screens and operate machine controls. Occasional late evening work may be required when patient load is high. Possible exposure to communicable disease and infection due to direct patient contact, as expected in a health care setting.

Medical Records / Chart Prep Lead Person
Description:
Responsible for handling the day to day operations within Medical Records / Chart Prep, communicates with internal personnel on needs, handles vacation requests, disciplinary action, and the overall culture and performance of Medical Records and Chart Prep department. In addition this position is responsible for all job responsibilities as a Medical Records Tech. This includes scanning and indexing all medical records in the appropriate patient’s electronic medical record, verifying requests for medical records and sending copies of the records to physicians and other appropriate parties in response to such request, preparing charts for office visits and consultations as scheduled on physician’s schedule, and any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency required. Associates degree or higher preferred. Supervisory and medical records experience is greatly preferred. Experience in Medical Records and Chart Prep of a health care facility greatly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is also highly desirable. Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with management, staff members, peers and the general public. Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record required. Ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently and efficiently. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details.

Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse
Description:
Under the direction of the Nurse Liaison Manager, accurately provides safe, professional nursing and care coordination to patients undergoing radiation therapy. This includes assisting with triaging patient calls that come into the department. The nurse accurately evaluates the patient’s condition, teaches, counsels, and acts as a resource for patients and their caregiver(s) for support and for disease and treatment information. The nurse provides appropriate information to patients and family members regarding radiation oncology treatments and side effects.
Qualifications:
Work requires frequent standing, stooping, bending and stretching. Requires assisting patients of up to 300 pounds (pushing, pulling and lifting/providing assistance). Good manual dexterity required. Radiation Therapist
Description:
Accurately treats patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist and Physicist. This includes setting the correct field size, treatment distance, positioning aides, monitor units, and the correct geographical center, etc. Records accurate monitor units delivered daily dose and the summation of the doses in the treatment charts. Assures all prescribed treatment devices are used for each treatment. Verifies patient set up by taking portal images. Checks all fields of treatment before beam of radiation is initiated. Accurately records all treatment data in patient’s EMR. Accurately enters correct procedure charge into IMPAC software following administration of treatment.
Qualifications:
Comprehensive knowledge of radiation therapy acquired through accredited radiation therapy technology program. Current ARRT license in radiation therapy or registry eligible. Minimum of one year clinical work in a radiation therapy department. This experience can be part of the education process or practical work experience. Ability to communicate, both oral and written, technical and other procedures to all staff, physicians, and patients. Must be able to read, comprehend and follow complicated treatment plans, and the ability to perform basic arithmetic and algebraic calculations. Ability to work tactfully and compassionately with terminally ill patients and their families and/or care givers. Exhibits problem solving skills in handling both interpersonal and technical discrepancies.

SWAT /Float Registered Nurse
Description:
Under the direction of the Nurse Liaison Manager, accurately provides safe, professional nursing and care coordination to patients undergoing radiation therapy or treatment through medical oncology. This position is a float position that moves from area to area depending on need. The person needs to be flexible and able to multi-task and work with a wide range of co-workers. The person will be trained in Radiation Therapy, Chemo, and Med Onc Nurse Liaison. The SWAT nurse accurately evaluates patient condition, teaches, counsels, and acts as a resource for patients and their significant others for support and for disease and treatment information.
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent education plus work experience required.CurrentStateofMichiganlicense as a registered nurse required. Experience working in oncology with certification in oncology and/or chemotherapy highly desirable. Oncology Certified Nurse or completion within two years of employment required. CPR certification required. Ability to communicate, both oral and written, technical and other procedures to all staff, physicians, and patients. Certified Medical Assistant
Description:
Under the direction of the Lead Medical Assistant, responsible for assisting nurses, physicians and other staff with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasking, including preparing patients for office visits, maintaining patient/physician waiting rooms, and coordinating physician’s-patient room schedules. Provide information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services.
Qualifications:
High School diploma required, some college preferred. Completed a Medical Assistant program and is certified or registered as a MA. CPR certification required. Basic computer skills necessary. Scheduling experience preferred. Ability to communicate, both oral and written, technical and other procedures to all staff, physicians, patients and outside health care systems. Board Certified Dosimetrist
Description:
Under the supervision of the Director of Radiation Physics, Dosimetrist is responsible for generating radiation dose distributions and calculations according to prescriptions written by radiation oncologists.
Qualifications:
CMD certification is required. Board Certification is required. A bachelor degree in a science related subject plus 2-3 years experience as a Board Certified Dosimetrist or four years experience as a radiation therapist plus 3-4 years as a Board Certified Dosimetrist is required. Working knowledge of radiation safety required. Ability to work independently required. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, technical information and procedures to all staff, physicians, and patients. Must be able to read, comprehend and follow complicated treatment plans and treatment protocols, and the ability to perform arithmetic and algebraic calculations. Lead Research Protocol Nurse (RN)
Description:
Lead Research Protocol Nurse is responsible for the supervision and allocation of resources for the Research Protocol Nursing staff; developing new research base relationships and contact which benefit the Kalamazoo CCOP (KCCOP); Processing documents to various research bases; facilitating / developing physician activities with KCCOP to assure planning and implementation of program objectives and increasing participation in clinical trials; and assisting in the application of any research grants submitted.
Qualifications:
State of Michigan Register Nurse license, Bachelors degree preferred., previous supervisory experience required; Oncology Nursing Certification and Chemotherapy Certification required. CCRP preferred; excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with subordinates, management, physicians, patients, employees and the public; ability to interpret, comprehend and transmit complicated and detailed instructions; ability to organize, prioritize and work independently as well as schedule, delegate and produce work in a timely and efficient manner, also ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details; broad knowledge of organizational operations and policies, and a high level of experience, discretion and technical skills; high degree of integrity regarding confidential information and data; oncology experience and clinical trial experience required; knowledge of federal grant/research regulations (including FWA, IRBs, Credentialing).

Chaplain
Description:
Provides spiritual support services to WMCC patients, caregivers and staff. Work with a multitude of other disciplines as well as independently to ensure quality patient care. Works as part of the treatment team to ensure comprehensive services and assessments, palliative needs, and end of life care. Participate in committees, meetings, workshops, and comprehensive multi-disciplinary specialty clinics; primarily the Quality of Life Clinic. Assist with the facilitation of patient supportive services programming as needed (such as the Memorial Service).
Qualifications:
Theological training acquired from an accredited institution with completion of a Master’s Degree in Theology, Divinity or Pastoral Care required. Completion of four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education through an accredited pastoral education center required. Ecclesiastical endorsement through denomination. Board certified or eligible for certification and will complete certification within 18 months of hire. Continuing Education with extended units towards palliative care, oncology care, or Palliative Certification for Chaplains preferred, or attained within two years of hire at WMCC. Board certification through, and in good standing with the APC, NACC, NAJC, or CAPPE. Pastoral Theology that is contemporary, functional and integrated into professional practice. Ability to use spiritual assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in the clinical setting. Minimum 2 years experience in chaplain role in healthcare setting required, oncology or hospice experience preferred. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and overall understanding of health care systems, spiritual impact of life threatening disease preferred, willingness to become expert is required. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities. Proficient in Microsoft office required, and ability to learn and utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to cope with high intensity emotional strain of working with severe illness of patients, and ability to maintain professional boundaries as outlined in by the code of ethics for Professional Chaplains.

Mid-level Provider (PA / NP) – Gynecologic Oncology
Description:
Provides direct patient care under the physician supervision. Primary duties will be conducting patient office visits, evaluating or assisting patients who require GYN Oncology surgery, pre-op and post op assessments and follow-ups, evaluating patients who require chemotherapy, documenting on all patients seen, assessing and approving chemotherapy orders, doing rounds on the GYN Oncology patients while they are in the hospital, discharging patients from the hospital, organizing GYN tumor board.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant’s or Nurse Practitioner Program. Board Certification required. Oncology, Chemotherapy experience preferred. 3-5 years prior experience required as a PA/NP. Current NCCPA or NP certification. CPR Certified. Must have current valid license from the State of Michigan. Experience working with an EMR greatly preferred. Must have good personal computer skills. Ability to work tactfully and compassionately with cancer patients and their families and/or care givers. Ability to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing.
