Breast Cancer Clinic

The transition from breast cancer diagnosis to a comprehensive treatment plan has never been faster.

The Breast Cancer Clinic at the West Michigan Cancer Center is a faster, more efficient way to treat breast cancer. After just one meeting with our team, each patient leaves with a comprehensive treatment plan that can be acted upon immediately.

The Clinic provides every patient with:

  • A complete and all-encompassing review of their medical records prior to the initial consultation to assure an efficient, cost-effective visit. This collaborative meeting of physicians and other health care providers captures all the expertise necessary to provide the highest quality care.
  • Multidisciplinary coordinated clinic care in which any additional tests and consultations are scheduled on the day of consultation whenever possible.
  • The expertise of the Multidisciplinary Team for consensus treatment decisions.
  • Complete consultation and information sharing with the family/referring physician.
  • Reports to the referring physician within 72 hours of the visit.
  • Comprehensive education materials.
  • Contact with an advanced practice nurse.
  • An opportunity to meet with a social worker or dietitian to discuss concerns or special needs.
  • Access to support groups or one-on-one psychological support.

A faster transition from diagnosis to treatment

The Breast Cancer Clinic at the West Michigan Cancer Center uses a unique multidisciplinary treatment approach, developed by a group of healthcare providers to reduce confusion and apprehension while speeding the transition from diagnosis to treatment.

When you choose to be treated here, a team of specialists begins discussing your treatment options as soon as your information arrives from your referring physician. This collaborative planning meeting allows the care team to share expertise and create a treatment recommendation. You have the advantage of not only a second opinion but third, fourth, or more, as a result of this team meeting.

After just one meeting with our team, you’ll leave with a comprehensive treatment plan that can be acted upon immediately.
