Current Opportunities

Billing Specialist
 Description:
Responsible for performing and or coordinating all activities associated with billing/patient accounts receivable. Processes all patient insurance company reimbursement payments. Experience with Medicare strongly preferred. Updates account information and initiates refunds and overpayments as necessary. Troubleshoots billing problems and issues with third-party payers when necessary.
 Qualifications:
At least three years experience with accounts receivable and billing departments. Knowledge of medical terminology required. CPC certification preferred. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of healthcare reimbursement procedures. ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS coding knowledge required. Working knowledge of managed care, Medicare, BCBS, and third party insurance procedures and guidelines required. Personal computer experience required. Ability to communicate, both oral and written, with staff, patients, and third party payor representatives. Ability to work tactfully and compassionately with terminally ill patients and their families and/or care givers. Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner; also ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details.

Radiation Oncologist
 Description:
The West Michigan Cancer Center is seeking a radiation oncologist to join its staff of two (2) board certified radiation oncologists for a total complement of 3 radiation oncologists. Physician with IMRT, IGRT, HDR, and stereotactic radiosurgery experience highly desirable. Also on staff are six (6) board certified medical oncologists and two (2) board certified gynecologic oncologist. We are a comprehensive cancer center with all support services (nutrition, psychological counseling, support groups, pastoral care, transportation, and complimentary programs such as Tai Chi, Yog, Pilate, etc.) and active NCI clinical trials and pharmaceutical studies all under one roof. We also have active gynecologic oncology surgery and pediatric oncology programs. We have active IMRT, prostate brachytherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, and HDR programs. The workload is about 30-32 patients per day under treatment per physician. Radiation therapy has Tomotherapy, one Varian Trilogy, Varian 21 EX with MLC and OBI, 1 Siemens KD, Philiips Wide Bore Brilliance CT, CMS XIO treatment planning, Radionics X-knife stereotactic radiosurgery, MMS/Variseed prostate brachytherapy, treatment planning and HDR. There are three boarded physicists, one PH.D., 2 Masters, 8 certified radiation therapy technologists, one board certified dosimetrist, two board eligible dosimetrist, and three RNs. Medical Oncologist
 Description:
Staff Medical Oncologist at West Michigan Cancer Center (WMCC), multiple full-time openings, will offer clinical expertise in oncology, obtain active participation and cooperation of referring physicians to grow practice, provide active clinical care, participate in clinical research and design, display commitment to clinical medicine, and align efforts to meet the philosophy and goals of WMCC. Other duties will include, but not be limited to: provide patient medical care; ongoing service training of clinical staff; maintain electronic medical record of patients; respond to insurance reimbursement issues; assist in development of new clinical programs; adhere to prevailing standard of care in treating patients and compliance with NCCN guidelines; work effectively across all disciplines, radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology, surgery, etc., to provide comprehensive approach to patient care; participate in teaching and academic opportunities that are available; actively participate as a member of WMCC’s leadership group.  Qualifications:
Minimum requirements: M.D./D.O., BE/BC in medical oncology, related residency/fellowship training required: Michigan medical/pharmacy license: Member of American Society of Clinical Oncology. Other advanced degree such as MPH or Ph.D. preferred.

PA/NP Medical Oncology
 Description:
Provides medical care in Medical Oncology to patients under physician supervision, includes office visits, consults, procedures and patient rounds. Documents in patient medical record and dictates information as appropriate. Functions in the role of advanced practitioner to coordinate comprehensive care delivery.  Qualifications:
Licensed in the State of Michigan as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, or eligible to be licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program. Oncology experience strongly preferred.
