Consistent and reliable transportation is very important to receiving treatment.  The resources listed below are available to help you meet your transportation needs.  If you have questions about any of these programs, please contact the Social Services Department at any one of our direct lines:  269-373-7446, 269-384-8629 or 269-384-8686.

American Cancer Society Road to Recovery Program

This program is mostly available to patients who live locally. Sometimes, special exceptions can be arranged for out-of-county transportation assistance. Contact the call center to discuss your request as they require 96 hours/4 business days notice to find a volunteer in your area. They will need to know the duration of your appointment.

Shepherd’s Center

This program is available to seniors over the age of 65 in Kalamazoo. There is a suggested $10 donation for services. Please call them to inquire.

Area Agency on Aging
Each county in Michigan has a Commission on Aging, also known as the Area on Aging. This organization often works with community organizations to coordinate transportation to medical appointments for individuals over the age of 60. Please call your local Area Agency on Aging to inquire.

Traditional Medicaid
Contact your Department of Human Service worker at your county office; mileage reimbursement.

BCCCNP Medicaid
If you are in Kalamazoo, Allegan, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, St. Joseph, or Van Buren Counties, please call the Southwest Michigan BCCCP Office at 888-243-4087 or 269-373-5213 to inquire.

United Healthcare Medicaid
