WMCC Adds Two Radiation Oncologists
West Michigan Cancer Center Radiation & Surgical Specialties (WMCC) is pleased to announce that Mohamad Fakhreddine, MD, and Garth Tormoen, MD PhD, have joined the center’s radiation oncology team.
Dr. Mohamad Fakhreddine most recently practiced in San Antonio, TX, where he treated patients as an assistant professor of radiation oncology at UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center. During his four-year tenure in Texas, he also served as assistant residency program director. Dr. Fakhreddine graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in mechanical engineering with high honors and completed his medical school training at Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center in Houston. He completed his radiation oncology training at UT Health San Antonio.
Dr. Fakhreddine is board certified in radiation oncology and treats all disease sites. He strongly believes in shared decision-making. By listening carefully to his patients to understand their goals and values, Dr. Fakhreddine vows to help them make the best possible decisions about their unique cancer treatment.
Dr. Garth Tormoen arrived in Kalamazoo from Reno, NV, where he served as a radiation oncologist for two years. He earned Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in materials science & engineering from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI. Dr. Tormoen obtained his medical doctorate and PhD in biomedical engineering from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. After an internship in internal medicine at Providence Portland Medical Center, he completed his radiation oncology residency at Oregon Health & Science University.
Dr. Tormoen is board certified in radiation oncology and treats all disease sites. His patients can expect him to be honest and compassionate, to listen to their questions and concerns and to be treated with dignity and respect. Further, he vows to provide a clear understanding of their diagnosis and treatment recommendations and a personalized treatment plan that incorporates their own strengths and values.
