Bringing health to the mind.
Coping with an illness like cancer can be extremely difficult for patients and caregivers. Emotional health is an integral part of handling the stress of illness, fear, anxiety, and worry of the unknown. Your WMCC care team may suggest counseling or therapy services at some point in your journey. There are many different kinds of counseling services in our community, and the social work team is happy to explore this with you to find a good fit. Please call 269.373.7446 or email socialwork@wmcc.org for supportive resources and referrals.
Please understand that if at any point you or a loved one is considering harming themselves (suicide) or others, YOU SHOULD CALL 911 OR TAKE THEM TO THE NEAREST EMERGENCY ROOM FOR FURTHER EVALUATION. CONCERNS ABOUT HARMING SELF OR OTHERS REQUIRe urgent follow-up care.
Talk with your provider about which approach would be best for you.
