For Patients & Families

Patient Programming

Get the help you need.

Thanks to generous donors, WMCC’s Patient Care Services & Survivorship Fund (PCSF) provides funding for various patient programs.
Programming is available to all cancer patients at no cost.

Advance Care Planning
Planning for health care in the future is an important step toward making sure you get the medical care you want if you are unable to speak for yourself. Throughout the year, we host advance care planning workshops to provide information and assist you in the decision-making process. You can request a private education session with one of our social workers, or you can register for an onsite workshop when available.
Massage Therapy

We offer complimentary massage by a licensed therapist to active treatment patients and caregivers during their visits with us. For more information, click here. To schedule a 10 minute session before or after an existing treatment, call 269.373.7428.

Support Groups

Community Groups

We have developed a comprehensive list of support groups in the community for patients with cancer and blood disorders. The list covers support available online, by telephone and in person in the Southwest Michigan area. This list does not include all possible support groups. WMCC respects the patient’s right to choose a particular support group and does not recommend specific groups. We recommend that you contact a support group in advance, either by email or phone, to determine if the group will meet your needs. Please click on the link below to access the support group list:

Peer Mentorship Program

EMPOWER OTHERS

Join Our Cancer Peer Mentorship Program

Peers needed for cancer patients

Are you a cancer survivor? Have you thought about how you might make a meaningful difference in the life of someone undergoing a similar cancer experience as yours? WMCC is looking for peer mentors. This is an opportunity to guide and support individuals navigating a cancer diagnosis. As a peer, you can offer wisdom, experience, and caring encouragement throughout their journey.

Peers needed for caregivers

WMCC is also looking for peer mentors for cancer caregivers. If you served as a caregiver to a cancer patient and have in interest in helping a new caregiver, we would like to connect you. In this role, caregiver peers are encouraged to respond with empathy, understanding, and validation as caregivers support their loved ones battling cancer.

Ready to make a difference as a patient peer mentor or caregiver peer mentor? Contact Samantha Langley, MSW, in our social work department at 269-373-7446 or email socialwork@wmcc.org.
