WMCC Earns Reaccreditation from ACHC

Kalamazoo, MI – West Michigan Cancer Center Radiation & Surgical Specialties (WMCC) is proud to announce it has once again earned reaccreditation from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) for its gynecologic, radiation, and surgical oncology services.

Reaccreditation by ACHC recognizes WMCC’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional cancer care while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and patient outcomes.

“Achieving reaccreditation reflects the dedication of our entire team,” said Bridget VandenBussche, MHA, CPHRM, and executive director of WMCC. “Every physician, nurse, therapist, and staff member plays a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive compassionate, evidence-based care in a safe and supportive environment. This recognition affirms that commitment.”

WMCC Division Chief of Radiation Oncology, Mazen Mislmani, MD, explained that ACHC reaffirmation underscores the discipline, consistency, and commitment our patients count on every day. “Reaccreditation isn’t a formality for us; it’s a rigorous assessment of whether our clinical standards truly align with best practices. Our team embraces that level of accountability,” said Dr. Mislmani.

WMCC Quality and Risk Manager Blair Pease added that reaccreditation is more than meeting a set of standards every few years—it reflects WMCC’s daily commitment to patients. “This success is a true team effort, and it assures our community that we hold ourselves accountable to the highest quality and safety benchmarks in healthcare,” said Pease.

ACHC, a nonprofit organization established in 1986, is recognized as a symbol of quality and excellence in healthcare. WMCC remains committed to continuous improvement and adherence to ACHC accreditation standards—ensuring patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate cancer care.
