Katie Barnett, MSN, APRN, FNP-C

Katie Barnett is a board certified advanced practice provider in radiation oncology at WMCC.

Barnett, a native of St. Johns, MI, received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Michigan State University and her Master of Science degree from Spring Arbor University as a family nurse practitioner. She is accredited with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to joining West Michigan Cancer Center, she served as an oncology nurse at two cancer practices in Grand Rapids addressing both inpatient and outpatient needs. She has practiced at the West Michigan Cancer Center since 2020.

Barnett chose to pursue a career in nursing after a meaningful high school shadow experience introduced her to the role nurses play in delivering high quality healthcare. Her first job as an RN was in oncology and she quickly recognized the field provided a level of deep interaction with patients while integrating new medical advancements. “As an oncology nurse practitioner, I recognize that while each patient’s medical journey is different, one constant effort that I am committed to is compassionate care rooted in empathy and strong medical science”.
