What is WMCC’s eConsult program?

West Michigan Cancer Center’s eConsult program is designed to help clinicians connect with gynecologic oncologists for assistance in decision-making or care coordination without requiring patients to travel for an in-person visit unless necessary.

To start an eConsult, clinicians simply upload their question along with relevant patient information into a secure, cloud-based platform. Information can be uploaded whenever convenient (typically 5 – 10 minutes), and a WMCC gynecologic oncologist will review and make recommendations within two business days.

How it Works

  1. Enter the Purview virtual platform: You will enter basic patient information, details about the patient’s diagnosis, existing or prior treatment, and specific questions you would like addressed, along with any other information you deem relevant.

  2. Upload Case Information: Now, you or a clinical member of your practice can upload images or scanned records as needed. Once information has been uploaded, you will receive a confirmation email. Technical support is available 24/7. See contact information below.

  3. Submit Consult and Receive Recommendations: A WMCC gynecologic oncologist will review your questions and the patient’s information within 2 business days. Recommendations will be sent back to you as soon as they are complete. If you have additional questions, these can be sent to the gynecologic oncologist electronically, or can be addressed via live video chat if you prefer. Finally, you will be sent a short experience survey so we can continue to improve the consultation process.

What does asynchronous mean?
